Paying to play online is the worst thing that the console community accepted. #gaming

I played games since I was a kid, and I can't accept the fact that you need to pay to play online in consoles. The first to do that was Microsoft, and everyone did nothing about it. We all know that excuse "it's because of the servers" is bullshit. Why hasn't the community Start a petition or a hashtag on social media about it. You already paid for the videogame, the game, the internet and why do you need to pay a fee for playing a game mode that you already paid for?
