I am one of the first generation of gaming. I was born in 1965 and I was there for Pong. I was there for the Atari 2600, though I owned an Intellivision, and I’ve been there for every generation of gaming since. I’m nearly 60. And my reaction time ain’t what it used to be. My hands are arthritic and don’t move as quickly. Video games are becoming too difficult for me to play. Eventually, maybe in just a few years, I won’t be able to finish any games because of their difficulty. I believe gaming difficulty should be seen as an accessibility issue. Difficulty on games should be able to be modified to WHATEVER DEGREE the player wishes for the player to be able to find as much enjoyment or challenge they wish. This would expand the gaming market and allow the first generation of gamer to continue gaming. This is with regards to single player games, mind you. Just my $.02.
